Rach #2 was the music. Another team with a strong "wow" factor. nice clean skate. 3 toes. Throw 3 loop. Lift was short and simple, but fine. A clean skate with just a little less "umph" than the very top.

Freedom by Michael W. Smith - looked like a 3 twist to start? side by side 3 toes - tap - 2 toes (she fell) throw 3 sal. side by side 2 axels. Throw 3 loop. Nice big lifts with summersault exit. Great presense and nice speed. Big crowd response. I would have had them higher in the free.

Laura Handy & Jeremy Allen

Music was Moulin Rouge says the program. 3 toes fine. 2 twist was a bit rough. The throw ( I have it as an attempt at a 3 toe) was short of rotation and she stepped out widely. I am afraid I remember nothing about the program.

Rach #2. 3 toes. 3 twist. nice lift. Throw 3 sal (2 footed) 2 axel - step - 2 toe. throw 3 toe? Lift was long and smooth. A very strong skate technically, but again - not a lot of attention paid to the audience. They both skate very within themsleves - not even to each other. Hard to really get into. Still should have been several places higher.

Amanda Evora & Mark Ladwig

Concerto in E Minor. Looks like a new team?... Um... The elements were just not there for them. Uh - The twist was fine.

Star wars (the newest one - they were even in character costumes). some set of side by side jumps that went off - he put his hand down. a 3 twist with no catch at all. a side by side ? single loop? the back inside death spiral was bouncy. both missed some side by side jump then tried to stand up for 2 toes. she fell on throw 3 sal.

Stacey Pensgen & Derek Trent

Music by The Coors says the program. How nice to see Stacy back and smiling so much. Lovely program. twist was fine. She put her hand down on the 3 toes and I had trouble seeing the throw - may have been a 3 toe? Death Spiral was a little rough. A pretty skate that bodes well for this teams future. (uh - oh - did I just doom them to break up??)

Side by side 3 toes (he fell). Side by side ??? Sal??? A very low 2 twist. she fell on throw 3 toe. lift was rough. throw 3 sal (hand down). 2 twist. Spilt jump - 1/2 jump - 2 toe sequence (nice look to this).

Tiffany Vise & Laureano Ibarra

"Nessun Dorma". She stepped out of 3 toes. and the throw 3 loop. Pair spin was slow. Mirror skaters. Nice side by side spins. Very close.

He stepped out of side by side 3 toes. she 2 footed the throw 3 loop. Nice footwork. throw 3 sal. side by side spins were off and she came out of heres. side by side jumps were way off.

Marcy Hinzmann & Steve Hartsell

Music was "Tonight" by Elton John. They skated first and some people feel they were much lower than they deserved because of it. They did basically have a clean program, which turned out to be rarer than one might hope, but....They were very forward on the landings of their 3 toes and she was also very forward on the throw 3 sal. They did a nice side star to a one hand lift. Their 2 twist was not spectacular, but it was done. They were slow over all and just had no "wow" factor that several of the top 6 or 7 teams have. They seem like a very good match up in an early stage.

3 toe. 3 twist collided and he muscled a save - I thought they were going down. Throw 3 sal (fall). she fell on side by side 2 axels. They started fast and slowed as they went on. 2 footed the throw 3 loop. nice carry lift. 3 toe - tap- 2 toe. Coahces clapped at them to speed them up at the end.

Kristen Roth & Michael McPherson

Program says "Slaughter on 10th Ave." I can't honestly remember. He fell on 3 toes. Throw 3 sal. Weak pair spin.

Side by side 3 toe. 2 twist. side by side 2 axel. step out of 3 loop (probably a throw). Nice carry lift. Throw 3 sal. 1 axel-1.2 jump-2 toe.

Tiffany Stiegler & Johnnie Stiegler

Music was Santana. Spectacular throw triple. He doubled the 3 toes. 2 twist was great. Their lift went very off. She was reaching and grasping and... I would have to see video to see what happend, but it was clearly a lost element. She seemed to "flatten out" at the end of the death spiral before she came up and out. A very fast well choreographed and performed program.

Spartacus - 3 twist with no catch. She fell on throw triple. 2 axel (he put a hand down) side by side toes - he doubled. throw 2 sal. side by side jump sequence. The Stieglers had a very rough time. At one point they actually tumbled over each other - looked like Johnny caught a toepick and fell and Tiffany went over him. Ouch.

Emma Phibbs & Devin Patrick

Last years program to Summer from 4 Seasons. 2 twist with a messy catch. she fall on throw 3 sal. 3 toes were ok. side by side spin was exactly on.

2.75 twist. Side by side jumps were off on unison and someone missed some rotation. Throw 3sal. Star lift. (short). Throw 3 toe (went to her knees) side by side 2 axels. both landed badly. side by side spins were off.

Jacqueline Matson & Don Baldwin

"Sing Sing Sing". Lift never went up. rough 2 twist. 3 toes fine. she sort of opened up short of rotation and stepped out of the throw 3 loop. They had trouble with the lifts in practice the other day. There were no problems with them the last times I saw them. He held his back as they left the ice..perhaps he is having some trouble that accounts for the loss of the lift.

Twist wasn't right - she was horizontal - I think it was a 2. side by side 3 toes (she swung). fall on throw 3 loop. lift slow and ...pained. She swung out of a throw triple. 2 axel. 2 toe. Star lift went down early.. Drape lift with a heavy drop out. 2 axels.

Lindsay Rogeness & Brian Rogeness

Waltz. Side by side sals were even less close than Kalasevich and Parchem's. The throw sal only got about 2.5 revolutions. Pair spin was off. They skated very slowly.

3 twist. Throw 3 sal (2 footed). 2 toes. Lift. Veyr bad death spiral. Throw 2 loop. Jump Sequence. Another weak daeth spiral. They kept the program to the Matrix that Artur Dimitriev set for them. This was the program that made Artur like the music so much he decided to do the wierd puppet on a swing number with His partner. I don' t like this "music" for anyone. I don't like the puppet on a swing number. Ann is not happy.

Tiffany Scott & Philip Dulebohn

Heartbreak Hotel. A perfectly clean skate. 3 toes neat as a whistle. one had hip lift to star to sideways star lift. Clearly the winners here. Fast and secure and with a good amount of expression for them.

She fell on 3 toes. the 3 twist collided. she was forward on the throw 3 sal. 2 axel - tap- 2 toe. fell on throw 3 toe. Eesh.

Stephanie Kalesavich & Aaron Parchem

Throw 3 sal. and twist were clean. They were fast and had pretty nice presentation. They both went to both hands in very failed attempts at side by side 3 salchows. I would not have had them above Baldwin and Inoue with the severity of the failure of those side by side jumps. If even one of them had completed the revolution...oh well.

Stepped out of throw 3 sal. 3 twist. she fell on throw 3 sal. scarey lift. Side by side 3 toes didn't work for her. stepped out of throw 3 loop. Death spiral exit didn't work right. Just messy.

Kalesavich and Parchem were held up so far I was ready to knock heads together. They were already at least 2 places too high in the short and they were at least 2 - if not 4 places high in the free. Until the placement flip flop happened that took them off the podium I was ready to scream.

Rena Inoue & John Baldwin Jr.

The program says their short program music is Carmen.....but I do not think that is true. They got the twist done fine. He struggled on the 3 toe landing, but I don't think he put his hand down. (I completely missed the fact that Rena doubled this jump - I was too concerned for him) Throw 3 sal was clean and big. She seemed to ...go "wide" on the camel in the pairs spin - looked like she fought to get it in control. Somehow they still appeared to stay in synch on the whole spin. Not sure what that was. But I was impressed by the "fight". They hit a rut in the beginning of their spiral sequence and it looked like they were going over on their noses, but they saved that as well. Even with the errors, they were fast and aggressive and had a real wow factor. Their presentation marks were a lot higher than the technical, so that is nice (Kudos to Choreographer - Burt Lancon). I was very impressed by how they fought so hard to keep this together.

3 twist was a bit short of rotation - he caught her on his arm. I think the 3 toes worked... 2 axels. Throw 2 sal was wide. Throw 3 loop was a fall and slide into the boards. I was taking photos and don't have complete notes after this - I know there were several interesting lifts. They are fast and dynamic and I would really like to see them do these programs clean and see how well they could do. I am very impressed by them.

Katie Orscher & Garrett Lucash

Music was Cirque(Aieeee). throw 3 sal. 3 toes fine. They ended a little before their music, but they were fast and clean and had some "wow" to them. I was pleased to see this skate after their Grand Prix ...problems.

3 twist. 3 toes. He put a hand down on the 2 axels. Throw 3 loop was low. 3 toes - tap - 2 toes (she stepped out) throw 3 sal. Well. They do the elements, but the inbetween stuff is.... not up to par really. And they are slow.

Larisa Spielberg & Craig Joeright

Tango from Indochine. Great skate for them. So nice to see. She put a hand down on the toes. But they got all the other elements and they looked fast and strong and expressive. Throw was a 3 sal - she was skiddy on the landing but held on. I might have had them behind Orscher and Lucash and I would have to watch video to decide about where they belong compared to Inoue and Baldwin, but the differences are all so "apples and oranges": does one hand down equal a step out and a bobble... Etc... So I have decided it is just nice to see them top three after the short and I am done with it :))

Both of them went down on the 3 toes. 3 twist was caught on his shoulder. Throw 3 sal. side by side jumps - she 2 footed and popped, then stepped into 2 toes. side by spins were off. She fell on throw sal. They had very fast lifts with lots of position changes and interesting dismounts.
