Short Program:

Wow. This was really painful to watch. Ina & Zimmerman were NOT captivating - no matter what the press is saying. They were better than everyone else; but that is not saying a lot. Mostly what they were more of than everyone else was fast. Lots of people had pretty stuff and skated well to their music. But there was a lot of crashing and a bunch of just plain sloppy mistakes.

Free Skate: Steve Hartsell had an injury involving his left leg/groin. They had to withdraw during the warm up. She was crying. I was crying. They took bows and skated off - Very sad for them & The US.

1 twist. Throw 2 sal. She 2 footed the 3 toes. Her form isn't great in the death spiral. I like this pair - It is cute to see her smiling like crazy and him all serious throughout. They have nice energy and good positions.

Ok.. I clearly missed some HUGE deduction here. I thought they did side by side 3 toes, a throw 3 sal and a 2 twist. I know they 2 footed everything and were slower than most. But no one else could stay vertical. I don't get it. Maybe I saw too many rotations in some of these elements???Yup - they were side by side 2 toes. That'll do it.

2 twist. Nice fast lift with a change of position. She shorted revolutions on the throw 3 sal, 2 footed it and stepped out. He fell on the 3 toes. Their side by side spins were out of unison for a while. And her form in the death spiral was not good.

2 teist. Nice lift to a one hand ending. throw 3 sal. I thought he doubled the 3 toes. I have read other places it was her that doubled. I know someone did.

The. Lift. Was. Very. Slow. 2 twist. throw 3 sal with A Very Slow Entry. He put his hand down on the 3 toes. Their side by side spins was nice and close.

Kyoko Ina & John Zimmerman

He fell on the 3 toes. They did all the other stuff fast and well. Before the competition began I said "I believe John will fall on the side by side jumps and they will be first". I am sooo Psychic.

This was a VERY exciting program. More so for me than Ina & Zimmermans. But John fell on the 3 toes and that was that. I like this music WAY better than I&Z's. And the whole program is more fun to watch. They are fast. The throw sal is very fine. The side by side spins and footwork were fast and on. Probably (other than the dang fall) the most fun I had in this evening.

Ok. I like their skating very much. But this is more music I do not care for at all. Great lift and twist. Side by side jumps were on (3 toe). She two footed the throw sal. He had issues with the camel on the side by side spins. The spins looked really rough and may well have been short revolutions on some of the positions. They mostly kept unison though (How did they do that???)

Jessica Miller & Jeffrey Weiss

The 2 twist was loooowww. She bobbled on the footwork and bumped into his shoulder. She steped out of the throw 3 sal. they did the 3 toes. The spin was off and on. During the warmup she fell on the throw sal and slid hard into the boards. In addition, their twist wound up with her landing on her back. A nerve wracking pair.

Oh they are so pretty together. Nice and fast too. 1 twist. Great lift - fast and to a one handed flip out. she fell hard on the throw sl. 3 toes fine. Death spiral had a hitch at the end.

Lift was slow. She came out of the throw sal way early on 2 feet. 3 toes were ok....someone near me thought they were flips, but I think they did toe wallys.

2 twist. Lift down early and rough. Throw 3 sal and 3 toes were on. He stumbled on closing pose. Eesh.

Larisa Spielberg & Craig Joeright

SP:9

Another real pretty pair.2 twist. Nice lift with flip out. She fell on the throw sal and the 3 toes.

Tiffany Stiegler & Johnnie Stiegler

SP:10

2 twist. Nice star lift. They are really fast. Both fell on side by side jumps. She put her hand down for a while on the throw sal. He lost the camel in the pair spin and it just never came off at all. This program was a train wreck. And I really do like this pair. But this was not indicitive of their talent at all.
