Overall impressions: Uh.. Not a strong event. Again, a lot of talent, but mostly
marred performances.
Short
- Michael Sasaki - Soundtrack - "Iron Mask ?" "Schindler's
List?" 2 axel-???-2?sal?? 2 footed 3lutz. 2 flip-2 toe. Stumbled on footwork
and on combo spin.
- Sean Calvillo - Bond themes-2 axel. Fall on 3 lutz flip-toe combo. Diagonal
Footwork was weak and the camel-sit wobbled.
- Michael Villarreal - "The Mission??" Had a big cross on his chest.
2 axel. 3 lutz-3turn -2 toe. 3 flip. Lost the entrance to the camel. Footwork
was a little rough.
- Robert Brathwaite - Jazz - fell on 3 axel. 3 flip.
- David Glynn - Classical music 2 axel. 3 lutz-swinging around-2 toe. popped
flip. Lost one of the spins.
- Johnathan Barksdale. Very tall man with great height on his jumps. I did
not make detailed notes, but landing was a problem for him.
Long
(This was the last event late in the evening of the last day - the quality
of my notes reflect this)
- Michael Sasaki - Hung on to 2 axel. fell on 2 lutz. 2 loop. 3 sal. 3 toe-2
toe.2 toe.
- Johnathan Barksdale - See short notes.
- David Glynn - Popped lutz. And flip. And loop. 3 toe - 2 toe (step out).
- Sean Calvillo - No notes
- Don Baldwin - Pop axel. And lutz. 3 flip - 3 toe. 3 toe?
- Robert Brathwaite - He had a decent skate as I recall, but his laces or
bootstraps came undone part of the way through (as they had at Golden West).
The ref. did not stop it & he stumbled on Footwork & fell a few times.
- Michael Villareal - Clearly the winner. As I recall it wasn't 100% clean,
but.....
